Mods
You can connect with zero mods, always.
Currently running on the server
Nothing live right now — the server is running vanilla while we get through the Valheim 1.0 launch. Mods go in a few days after, one at a time.
Waiting for a 1.0 update
Staged, but not yet confirmed against the current game version — usually because the mod's author hasn't shipped a compatible release yet. Held out of the server on purpose until they're tested and moved to "Ready to install."
BetterNetworking_Valheim v2.3.3waiting on an update
Improve multiplayer performance using compression, queue size, send rate, and other features.
Optional for players — install client-side if you want it, not required to connect.
pre-1.0, not yet tested against a 1.0 build
DiscordConnector v3.1.3waiting on an update
Connects your Valheim server to a Discord webhook. Works for both dedicated and client-hosted servers.
Server-side only, no client needed to connect. Posts join/leave/death/server events to Discord either way — but in-game chat only shows up for players who also install the optional DiscordConnector_Client.
pre-1.0, not yet tested; chat routing needs DiscordConnector_Client on players too
LetMeSleep v1.0.4waiting on an update
Skip the night with only some players in bed.
Server-side only — nothing to install client-side for this one.
pre-1.0, not yet tested against a 1.0 build
MaxPlayerCount v1.2.4waiting on an update
Change the max player count available for your server. Default value is the double that of vanilla's max of 10. Not needed if you have another mod that does it.
Server-side only — nothing to install client-side for this one.
pre-1.0, not yet tested against a 1.0 build
PlantEverything v1.20.0waiting on an update
Allows your cultivator to plant berry bushes, thistle, dandelions, mushrooms, previously unavailable tree types, and other decorative flora. Includes many other miscellaneous features (see description). Highly configurable with localization support.
Server-side only — everyone can harvest the new plants either way. Only players who also install it client-side can plant the new types themselves; that part's optional, not required to connect.
pre-1.0, not yet tested against a 1.0 build
Server_devcommands v1.109.0waiting on an update
Enables devcommands and utilities for server admins.
Install on your own client to use it — the server copy is optional and only needed for the full command set.
pre-1.0, not yet tested against a 1.0 build
StayInYourBiome v1.0.2waiting on an update
Stops creature spawns tied to existing global boss keys
Server-side, most likely — Thunderstore tags it client-side, which doesn't match how spawn logic works on a dedicated server; we'll confirm once it's actually tested.
pre-1.0, not yet tested against a 1.0 build
Installing client mods with r2modman
- Get r2modman (or its cross-platform fork, Gale) and install it. It manages your mod folders per-profile, so it never touches your vanilla install.
- Open r2modman, pick Valheim as the game, and create a new profile — call it something like "Lox Clan".
- If Jason has posted a profile code in #announcements, use r2modman's Import profile → From code and paste it — this installs the whole client mod set in one step, matched to the server.
- Otherwise, search each mod by name in r2modman's built-in Thunderstore browser, click Install, then Start modded from the profile's Play screen.
- Check the note under each mod above — some run on the server and need nothing from you, some are optional extras, and a couple require the client version specifically or you'll be kicked for a mismatch.
This page updates automatically as mods change — check back after each server update.
